Resuscitation Certificate
Course Description
Surf Life Saving WA CPR course delivers the essential principals, knowledge and skills to maintain breathing and circulation in any emergency situation on adults, children and infants. In addition to the elements learned in the basic resuscitation course, candidates will gain knowledge of when to start CPR and the flow chart procedures for CPR. This CPR course is based on the very latest policies and standards of the Australian Resuscitation Council.
Course Content
- Casualty assessment
- Emergency action principals – D.R.S.A.B.C.D
- External cardiac compressions (CPR)
- One and two operator Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation rates and techniques
- Procedure for placing a patient in the recovery position
Methods of Delivery and Course Duration
Full Course:
- 3 hours of face to face training and assessment
Refresher Course:
- 2 hours of face to face training and assessment
Course Information
Minimum Age Requirement: 10 years
Pre-requisite: Nil
On successfully completing the CPR Course training, participants will obtain a nationally recognised Resuscitation Certificate and Statement of Attainment in the unit of competence:
- HLTCPR201A Perform CPR
Validity: 12 Months
