Basic First Aid
Full Course 1 Day $85.00 (GST Exempt)
This course teaches participants how to provide basic First Aid in an emergency situation. Upon completion, participants will hold a First Aid certificate that’s valid for three years – however, it is recommended that CPR training is renewed annually. The course is delivered under the Australian Quality Training framework and is nationally recognised.
The course covers:
- The principles of First Aid and its application
- Perform a basic emergency care management assessment
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- Recognition and management of patients with broken bones, dislocations, sprains and strains
- Recognition and management of patients suffering minor burns including sunburn
- Treatment of wounds, infection, shock, and bleeding
- Treatment of poisoning including venomous bites and stings
- Reporting of accidents
Accreditation:
Upon successful completion of the training, participants will obtain a nationally accredited Statement of Attainment and SLSWA Basic First Aid Certificate in the following units of competence:
- HLTCPR201A Perform CPR
- HLTFA201A Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
Validity:
Basic First Aid is valid for 3 years. It is a recommendation of the Australian Resuscitation Council that the CPR component is updated every 12 months
