Surf Rescue Certificate

The Surf Rescue Certificate is a 2 day course suitable for anyone over the age of 13. Candidates will be taught and assessed on performing rescues, identifying dangers, resuscitation, basic emergency care and supervision skills. A 100m-100m-100m run-swim-run must be performed in less than 5 minutes. A theory workbook must be completed.

This certificate is recognised by the Department of Education and Training's Water Safety Guidelines for supervision of children in both open and closed waterways.

Surf Rescue Certificate (Full)

Duration: Two days (Day 1: 9:00am - 1:00pm, Day 2: 9:00am - 3:00pm)

Pre-requisites: Participants must be a minimum of 13 years of age on the initial date of assessment and complete a 200m swim within 5 minutes over a measured course - minimum 25m pool or measured open water course.

Course Content: Surf Awareness, Emergency Care, Resuscitation (CPR), Surf Skills, Rescue Techniques, Carries and Support, Supervision strategies. Complete a theory examination paper with an 80% pass rate.

Course Cost: $175.00 per participant (Including GST)

Validity: Surf Rescue Certificate is valid for 12 months.

 

Surf Rescue Certificate (Bridging Course)

Duration: One day - held on the second day of the full course (Day 1: 9:00am - 3:00pm)

Pre-requisites: Hold a current Senior First Aid Certificate or Bronze Medallion which must be sighted and approved by SLSWA prior to course date in order to be eligible to attend. Participants must be a minimum of 13 years of age on the initial date of assessment. Complete a 200m swim within 5 minutes over a measured course - minimum 25m pool or measured open water course.

Course Content: Surf Awareness, Surf Skills, Resuscitation (CPR), Rescue Techniques, Carries and Support, Supervision strategies. Complete a theory examination paper with an 80% pass rate.

Course Cost: $125.00 per participant (Including GST)

Validity: Surf Rescue Certificate is valid for 12 months.

 

Surf Rescue Certificate (Requalification)

Duration: 4 Hours (Day 1: 9:00am - 1:00pm)

Pre-requisites: Surf Rescue Certificate (proof must be provided)

Course Content: Revision and re-testing of SRC content

Course Cost: $70.00 per participant (Including GST)

Validity: Surf Rescue Certificate is valid for 12 months.
