Senior First Aid Self-Paced Training Course
1 Day $135.00 (GST Exempt)
This package lets candidates complete the theory component of their qualification in their own time and at their own pace. The self-paced learning package consists of a theory paper, workbook and First Aid manual. Once candidates have completed the workbook, candidates will participate in 1 day of face-to-face training and assessment.
After successfully completing the course, participants will receive a First Aid certificate that’s valid for three years. The course aligns to the National Guideline Standards for First Aid and meets Worksafe WA’s Workplace First Aid standards.
The course covers:
- Apply the principals of First Aid
- Recognition and management of emergency situations
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
- Treatment of infection, shock, fractures, bleeding and burns
- Emergencies due to lack of oxygen, excess heat or cold
- Recognition and management of medical conditions that may need emergency care, including heart attack, stroke, asthma, diabetes and epilepsy
- Management of common medical emergencies
- Treatment of poisoning including venomous bites and stings
Accreditation:
Upon successful completion of the training, participants will obtain a nationally accredited Statement of Attainment and SLSWA Senior First Aid Certificate in the following units of competence:
- HLTCPR201A Perform CPR
- HLTFA201A Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
- HLTFA301B Apply First Aid
Validity:
Senior First Aid Self Paced is valid for 3 years. It is a recommendation of the Australian Resuscitation Council that the CPR component is updated every 12 month.
